Emily B Weaver DVM
Dr. Weaver is a lifelong equestrian and equine veterinarian who grew up in the Tampa Bay area, where her passion for horses began at an early age. After receiving her first horse at 12 years old, she immersed herself in the equestrian world, competing in both eventing and dressage. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005 before completing an equine internship that further strengthened her foundation in equine medicine and surgery.
Following her internship, Dr. Weaver returned home to the Tampa Bay area and joined Odessa Equine Clinic in 2006, where she spent 15 years providing comprehensive veterinary care to horses throughout the region. In 2021, she founded Land O' Lakes Equine with the vision of delivering exceptional, personalized care to horse owners and their equine partners. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Weaver enjoys riding her own horses, reading a good book, and spending time with her husband and two children.
Alexis Gornik, DVM
Dr. Alexis Gornik is an equine general practitioner dedicated to delivering compassionate, evidence-based veterinary care for horses across every stage of life. A graduate of Lincoln Memorial University (LMU) College of Veterinary Medicine, she combines a strong clinical foundation with a practical, client-focused approach, emphasizing preventative medicine, diagnostics, wellness care, and effective treatment plans that support both equine health and performance.
Following graduation, Dr. Gornik received advanced professional training in equine critical care and emergency medicine at Brandon Equine Medical Center, where she developed extensive experience managing complex medical and surgical emergencies before joining the Land O' Lakes Equine team in 2025.
Driven by a passion for the equine industry, Dr. Gornik continually strives to advance her knowledge and clinical skills to provide the highest standard of veterinary medicine. Whether working with pleasure horses, performance athletes, or breeding stock, she approaches every case with professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to the well-being of both horse and owner. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys reading, competing in dressage, and spending time with her husband and their cat.
Hannah Orfeo, EVT
Hannah Orfeo is a Certified Veterinary Technician with a passion for equine medicine and a commitment to providing exceptional care for every patient. As a valued member of the Land O' Lakes Equine team, she works alongside the veterinarians to deliver high-quality medical care, assist with diagnostics and treatments, and help ensure each horse receives compassionate, attentive care. Her technical expertise, attention to detail, and calm, caring demeanor make her an integral part of the practice.
Originally from the Tampa Bay area, Hannah has a lifelong appreciation for horses and the equestrian community. When she's not caring for patients, she enjoys spending time with her husband, her dog, and her two horses, Napoleon and Katina. Whether she's assisting in the field or spending time at the barn with her own horses, Hannah is dedicated to the health and well-being of the horses and owners she serves.
